Creative Arts

 

As we read God’s Word, we are made aware of the arts throughout history: the temple craftsmen, the singers, the instrumentalists, the dancers.  As God’s creatures, we were designed to praise Him in every possible way. That is why at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, we feel it is important to train our children in the many different ways they may praise Him.

Over the span of one year, our Creative Arts Department will strive to offer nine to eleven week classes in Choir, Handbells, Puppets, Drama, and Dance for 1^st through 6^th grade students on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 PM until 7:15 PM.

Our first two class offerings beginning January 17, 2018 and ending March 14, 2018 will be Puppets and Visual Art.  During these nine week classes students will be exposed to a variety of skills while learning about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a way they have never before experienced. The culmination will be a presentation of art work and puppet performance on the evening of March 14.

Next will be an eleven week stretch of Hand chimes/bells, Dance, and Missions/Evangelism from April 11 through June 20 with a presentation on the evening of the June 20.

From August 22 through the remainder of 2018 the students will be involved in vocal music through our Children’s choir program with a presentation at the end of their time.
